Blast’s sixth release in their eighteenth year of existence. Joined by theTurkish-Kazakh singer Saadet Türköz and the Swiss reed player Hans Koch, on this CD Blast is playing a program of fully improvised music. Saadet's singing is a fusion of modern vocal techniques with elements of the Turkish-Mongolian music tradition. Hans Koch is known for his longstanding work in trio with Koch/Schütz/Studer, and for various international collaborations in the circuit of improvised music. This combination makes an obstinate music with moments of rawexpression and refined lyrical quality.

SOME PRESS ABOUT " AS NOWHERE AS ANYWHERE " :
-"Each album of Blast sounds different because of the fact that their concept constantly evolves. On their latest album two guests are invited: singer Türköz and saxophonist Koch. They are refining the sound explorations of which Blast knows how to make an art of.This is done in structured miniatures where each instrumentalist brings in his own speciality. This 6th album of Blast is once again worth while !."
(R. van der Heyden, Jazzenzo/NL. dec. 07)
-"Although Blast never has been a total improvisation group, they do on there 6th album a terrific job. There are constantly happening interesting movements which draw the attention. With As nowhere as anywhere the ensemble proves anything but to standstill"
